1970年出生，博士。1992年获复旦大学学士学位，1995年获复旦大学硕士学位，2001年获耶鲁大学博士学位。2001-2004年在耶鲁大学先作为博士后、后作为副研究员进行功能基因组及发育生物学研究。 2004至今，复旦大学生命科学学院发育生物学研究所副教授、教授。

主要运用发育生物学并结合其他生物学二级学科等理论和方法以研究小鼠基因组功能及发育分子机理。目前专注于：1）和侯宪玉教授一起在生物体质量控制机制（干细胞与发育、衰老及疾病）以及肠道菌群与发育方面展开全方位合作研究，2）小鼠横纹肌发育相关疾病机制研究。

曾获新世纪优秀人才（New Century Talents)，浦江人才 (Pujiang Talents) 。
